- “I like coffee ... I’m sure coffee is the best ...”
- “I like coffee ... I think coffee is my favorite ...”
- “I like coffee ... I suppose coffee is better than tea ...”
- “I like coffee ... I guess coffee is as good as tea ...”
Put it all together: Don’t stop, don’t pause. Think while speaking.
- Repeat: I like coffee, I like coffee ... I like coffee ...
- Rephrase: I love coffee, I love coffee ... coffee’s the best ...
- Expand: I like coffee in bed ... coffee in bed is the best ...
- Opinion: I’m sure coffee in bed is the best ... Do you like tea?
Don’t forget Quick Responses and Active Listening
- In my opinion...
- It seems to me (that) ...
- The way I see it, ...
- From my point of view ...
- As far as I’m concerned ...
Be careful with countable nouns:
- I like chicken, chicken is my favorite = food
- I like chickens, chickens are my favorite = animal
