3. Rephrasing (1)

“I like coffee.”

  • Repeat quickly for 20 seconds.
  • Change “like”:

    “I like coffee, I like coffee ... I like coffee, I really like coffee.

    I really like coffee, I really like coffee ... I love coffee.

    I love coffee, I love coffee ... I want coffee.

    I want coffee, I want coffee ... I need coffee.

    I need coffee, I need coffee ... I’m crazy about coffee.”

  • Practice the above for 30 seconds.
  • Interrupt your partner - practice for 30 seconds:

    A: I like coffee ... (repeat, change) ... I love coffee.

    B: ..................................................................I like coffee, I like coffee...

  • Add a question:

    A: I like coffee, I like coffee ... I’m crazy about coffee, do you like coffee?

    B: I like coffee, I like coffee ... I love coffee, do you like coffee?

  • Think while speaking - change the drink:

    A: I like coffee, I like coffee ... I need coffee, do you like tea?

    B: I like tea, I like tea ... I really like tea, do you like orange juice?

Practice with countries, cities, sports, people, shops and restaurants.

“I like coffee ... (repeat, change) ... I love coffee.”

  • Repeat quickly for 20 seconds.
  • Change “like”:

    “I like coffee, I like coffee ... I like coffee, coffee’s the best.

    Coffee is the best, coffee is the best ... I love coffee.

    I love coffee, I love coffee ... coffee’s fantastic.

    Coffee is fantastic, coffee is fantastic ... I need coffee.

    I need coffee, I need coffee ... coffee’s my favorite.

  • Practice the above for 30 seconds.
  • Interrupt your partner - practice for 30 seconds:

    A: I like coffee ... (repeat, change) ... coffee’s fantastic.

    B: .....................................................................I like coffee, I like coffee...

  • Add a question:

    A: I like coffee, I like coffee ... coffee’s really nice, do you like coffee?

    B: I like coffee, I like coffee ... coffee’s awesome, do you like coffee?

  • Think while speaking - change the drink:

    A: I like coffee, I like coffee ... coffee’s wonderful, do you like tea?

    B: I like tea, I like tea ... tea’s delicious, do you like orange juice?

Practice with countries, cities, sports, people, shops and restaurants.
