Hello there! In this week’s newsletter, I’d like to introduce my free PDF course, English for Studying Abroad.
I actually made this course a few years ago. It consists of (contains) 10 lessons that follow the story of an 18-year-old Japanese student called Maki. Lessons include role-play scenarios (situations), practical vocabulary, and cultural tips for living overseas.

I use this course with students of mine that are going overseas. They enjoy it very much and I hope you find it useful, too. Here’s the link again: English for Studying Abroad
Guide to the IELTS Speaking Test
If you want to study abroad, especially in Europe, you may need to take the IELTS test. I have a student who is going to study music at a university in Hungary. She needed to get a good score in the IELTS speaking test, so I made a guide for her and she passed!
I’ve uploaded the guide for you to read. I hope you find it helpful. Download Nick’s Guide to the IELTS Speaking Test.
Don’t forget, I now offer private lessons online if you’d like some one-to-one tuition (teaching).

- Studying off the beaten track – Used to describe studying in a country that is not a typical destination for students.
- Heading to foreign climes – Refers to moving to a different country with a notably different climate for study.
- Getting a taste of university life abroad – This phrase is used to talk about experiencing what studying at a university in another country is like.
