Kazunori Yokoi, a 61-year-old man from Kyoto, loved playing the guitar, but his neighbours did not enjoy his music. For more than seven years, Yokoi allegedly played his dozens of guitars and loud music day and night. Some elderly neighbours became unable to sleep and suffered health problems because of the constant noise.

After many warnings, police finally arrested him and took more than 40 guitars, along with amplifiers and music players, from his home. The noise was measured at over 80 decibels, similar to the sound inside a moving train. Yokoi's passion for music had become a serious problem for the people around him.
