Tom wakes up late one morning. He looks at the clock and sees that it is already 7:30. He quickly jumps out of bed and gets dressed. He runs to the kitchen and eats a quick breakfast. Then he grabs his school bag and runs to the bus stop. When he gets there, he sees the bus driving away. He feels very sad because he knows he is going to be late for school.
Tom decides to walk to school. He walks fast, but the school is far away. On the way, he sees his friend, Ken. Ken is riding his bicycle. Ken stops and asks, "Do you need help?"
Tom says, "Yes, I missed the bus. Can you give me a ride?" Ken agrees and Tom sits on the back of the bicycle. They ride quickly to school. When they arrive, the school bell rings. Tom thanks Ken and runs to his classroom. He is happy because he is not too late. Tom learns a lesson: he must wake up early every day.
| Tom: | Hi, Ken! Can you help me? |
| Ken: | Sure, Tom. What happened? |
| Tom: | I missed the bus. Can you give me a ride? |
| Ken: | Of course! Hop on my bike. |
| Tom: | Thank you, Ken! You are a good friend. |
| Ken: | No problem. Let's hurry! |
