Nobu is a young boy from Japan. He is funny and loves to try new things. One day, Nobu was very hungry. He looked in the kitchen, but didn't find any food.
Then, he saw a sock on the table. He didn't think and took a big bite of the sock! The sock tasted strange, not like food. Nobu quickly spat it out. He thought, "Socks are not food!"
His dad came into the kitchen, looking for his lost sock. When he saw Nobu, he started laughing. He told Nobu, "Socks are for wearing on your feet, not eating!" Nobu felt embarrassed, but was happy that he didn't swallow the sock.
After that day, Nobu always checked if something was food before eating it. Whenever he was hungry, he ate a cheese sandwich instead.
| Nobu: | Dad, why are you laughing? |
| Dad: | Hahaha, socks are for wearing on your feet, not eating! |
| Nobu: | Oops, I didn't know. I thought it was food. |
| Dad: | It's okay, Nobu. Just remember to check before you eat next time. |
| Nobu: | OK, Dad, but I'm so hungry! |
| Dad: | No problem. I'll make you a cheese sandwich. |
