A modern art gallery in Germany fired an employee for hanging his own art in an exhibition. The 51-year-old man drilled holes in a wall at Munich's Pinakothek der Moderne to display his painting. He hoped this would help him become a famous artist. The gallery quickly noticed and removed the artwork.
"The supervisors notice something like this immediately," said gallery spokesperson Tine Nehler. The man was part of the gallery's technical team and called himself a freelance artist. His painting was 60 by 120 centimeters and was hung in an empty passageway. Besides losing his job, he was also banned from the gallery. This gallery is one of the largest in Europe and shows works by famous artists like Picasso and Dalí.
