Unitree's new G1 humanoid robot is set to be sold for $16,000. The robot is capable of walking, jumping, and even climbing stairs, thanks to its 23 movable joints.
Its three-fingered hands can handle delicate tasks, like flipping food in a frying pan, and it uses advanced cameras to see in 3D. Standing at about 4.3 feet (1.3m) tall, the G1 is designed to learn tasks by observing and imitating.
While it's more affordable than other similar robots, it's mainly intended for research purposes. Potential customers shouldn't expect it to stroll into the kitchen and cook breakfast right out of the box.
| A: | Did you hear about the new G1 robot? |
| B: | Yeah, it's pretty cool! It can even flip food in a frying pan. |
| A: | I know! But $16,000 is a lot of money. |
| B: | True, but it's cheaper than other similar robots. |
| A: | I guess it's mainly for research, though. |
| B: | Right, you can't expect it to cook breakfast on its own yet. |
