P.K. Sanjun, a Japanese reporter, went to New York for the first time. He was there for a Pokémon event. The city was much bigger than he expected. In Tokyo, where he's from, he thought places like Shinjuku were big. But New York felt even bigger!
One big surprise was how people crossed the road. In Japan, most people wait for the green light. But in New York, many didn't wait. They just walked if no cars were coming. This was strange for P.K. Another thing was toilets. In Japan, you can find toilets everywhere: in parks, train stations and shops. But in New York, it was hard. He had to use an app on his phone to find them.
The air conditioning in buildings and planes was too cold, and the trip cost more money than he thought because the Japanese yen was not very strong. But in the end, he still enjoyed New York and wants to visit again. He won't cross the road if the light is red, though!
| P.K.: | Wait, wait! Stop! The light is still red! |
| Woman: | Huh? Oh! Don't worry, the road is clear. |
| P.K.: | Wow, New York is so different from Tokyo. |
| Woman: | Really? I've never been to Japan. |
| P.K.: | You'd love it. We have public toilets everywhere! |
| Woman: | That's great. Quick! A car's coming! |
