Article

Golden Lion, a football team from a small Caribbean island called Martinique, travelled nearly 7,000km to play in the French Cup. It's usually warm in Martinique, but it was very cold in France.

They were allowed to take part in the competition because teams from many of France's overseas regions can play. They went to Lille, a big French team, hoping to win. But, Lille used their best players and won the game 12-0. Two players from Lille, Jonathan David from Canada and Edon Zhegrova, scored six of the twelve goals.

Lille had 37 attempts on goal, but Golden Lion only had one. Jonathan David said, "We played well and scored a lot of goals. I'm happy with our team's performance."
